Finding Time to Post

Welcome officially to my new craft and sewing blog.  Here you will find all sorts of activities that fill my days with creativity.  I hope some will inspire you, help you, or just plain give you entertainment.  As we get started here, I can tell you that despite my best efforts at blogging regularly, it never happens.  Life always manages to interfere.  But I will always do my best to keep things fresh, maintain a level of professionalism and a balance of fun, and be here if you have any thoughts, questions, or ideas.

I think it’s important for you, my readers, to know a bit about me.  So . . . Hi, I’m Shannon (aka Shani Hime).  This past summer marked my husband and my 10th wedding anniversary and I can say I’m very happily married.  We had a wedding vow renewal ceremony for our anniversary and it was beautiful (so you’ll see a lot of wedding crafts at first ^__^).  I have two great kids; my son, he just turned 13, and my daughter, she’s 7.  They are always a handful, but boy are they inspiring!  My son enjoys my crafting habit, but he’s too cool to hang with us girls and craft (well, most of the time ^__<).  My daughter, on the other hand, has developed quite a crafty streak.  You’ll see her in pictures regularly, and if you catch a glimpse of the elusive teenager, well, count yourself lucky.  Lol.

My favorite things to do besides crafting and sewing are reading, singing, dancing, cosplaying, running my table-top rpg, and dealing with my family’s crazy, hectic life.  And what a life it is.  My husband started his new job today, my daughter starts school this Thursday, my son starts on Friday, and I start the following Monday.  Yikes!  Oh yes, I am in college.  I’m starting my 5th year of my 2 year degree, lol.  I only take half a course load at a time, summers off with my kids, and have thus far managed straight A’s so it’s not as bad as all that, but I have a lot left to get through.

I also compete with my costumes at some of the local conventions and sell my hand made jewelry and hats at these conventions and on Etsy.  In fact one of these conventions is coming up soon.  Nan Desu Kan, an anime convention held in Denver every year, runs in mid-September and I am hoping to compete with my daughter (a first for us).  There will be more blog posts about this on my original blog page.  It’s a lot of work, but a lot of fun and this time of year, it takes up a lot of blog time.  ^__^

Well, that’s me in a nut shell.  I am fortunate to fill my life with so much creativity and to get to share all of that with you.  Please let me know if you have any comments or questions and I will try to get things answered.  I am really excited about this blog getting off the ground and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Shannon
